slight inconvenience

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

If you haven’t noticed yet, I have just gotten a one-week ban on LP. (Looong story.) Having been temp-banned before, I don’t really mind the banning itself, but sometimes it is really frustrating when I really want to post something and I can’t (it’s also quite ironic that I received the ban right after I posted about my intention to enter the next round of the graphics competition–so much for that I guess). Another inconvenience that you readers here will understand:  I will not be able to be present at the celebration of the One-Year Anniversary of the Dinasaur Hed on Lost thread, and Sir Prophet Diarmuid Howley’s alleged Great Revelation scheduled to take place on that day. However, I will certainly be there in spirit, and I’ll return the very next day, the 5th of November, to see if Nooz will have left me any German chocolate cake.

And in the meantime, there’s always the wonderful Hedville!

So anyway…

(Posted this in the newly immortalized “i tink dat uz ned 2 luk closr” thread on Hedville Forums)

Recently I just got to thinking how ridiculously amazing the odds were for the glorious thread to be posted in the first place–I mean, Diarmy himself said it took like 20 pauses, and if you watched da video, it’s *really* hard to even notice the flash, much less get a close enough look to see the vague resemblance to a dinasaur’s hed. So it’s pretty damn amazing that he noticed it, and think that it was significant enough to post a thread about on LP. The odds are….. unbelievable. Proof that there is a Hed. It’s fate. Pure fate.

Happy LOSTiversary!

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Today, September 22, 2009, marks five years since the fateful crash of Oceanic Flight 815, and five years since the premier of the first season of the wonderful series that has made a difference in all our lives.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on this date–whether you started watching Lost that day or you were a late bloomer (I’ve been watching from the beginning, since I was a mere 10 years old :D ). I’m sure each and every one of us has a different story of how we came to decide to watch this wonderful show, and how pivotal that decision has been ever since… Just think, it is thanks to a TV show that many of us as Lostpedia community members have met and become close friends. Not to mention the Hed.

So, whether you were flipping channels one evening in 2004 and thought this show about a plane crash sounded like it might be cool, or whether it was just a few months ago that a relative or coworker lent you the DVDs, the Island somehow brought you to the spectacular wonder that is LOST, and in turn to Lostpedia and the DHC.

It is only fitting to close with a familiar aphorism from Lost itself: Do not mistake coincidence for fate.

Ye salty sea dogs!

Yarrr, it be International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Me parrot concurs with it bein a dinasaur hed.

Let us not forget the wise words of Captain Jack Sparrow: “If you want to be a pirate, you have to wear pants. Even if you’re not REALLY wearing pants.”
** Pirate Etiquette with Captain Jack Sparrow! **

…Yeah… don’t ask. I don’t know either. And I happen to prefer Orlando Bloom.

So, ye pirates of the Hed, go forth. May the winds of destiny take you on many adventuresome endeavours. Seek and ye shall find, for the precious booty of the dinasaur is everywhere (…that sounds a little odd… dinasaur booty call anyone?).

Yo ho ho, a bottle of rum. Shiver me timbers, ye pricks!

The Trickster

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Yep, he’s back! The legendary Eccentrick. E-Trick, Ecc, or just “that really hot dude”… whatever you want to call him, the genius Hedder has made an appearance, popping right in with his mad DHing skillz. What with the grand opening of Hedville, this has already proven to be a pivotal week in DHC history, and the return of a long-MIA Hedder is just icing on the cake… now we just need Caladan back plzkthx!!!

Ecc made a post on LP describing his situation, and that he is at a major crossroads in the direction of his life. Ecc, if you ever read this, just know that wherever fate or free will eventually takes you, the DHC will always keep your honoured name close at heart, and we hope you return the gesture. A dinasaur never forgets!
